Social Security Card for Adults
How To Obtain A Social Security Card
A social security card is an important document for citizens of the United States. If you don’t have one, you’ll want to apply for one. Here’s what you will need to do.
You’ll need to gather some background documentation about your citizenship, age, and identity. At least two of the following documents are required: U.S.passport, baptismal certificate, record of birth in a U.S. hospital, state-issued U.S. drivers license, and state-issued identity card. If you do not have two of these mains forms of documentation, you may present an employee, school, military or health-insurance identification card.
Procedure to Obtain A Social Security Card
Anyone age 12 or older must appear in person with background documentation for an interview. These interviews take place in your nearest the social security office, which can be found online.
